Rochelle Widdowfield

My name is Rochelle Widdowfield and I am blessed to be a teacher of the “High Fives!” Program! I am a 2008 graduate of Westminster College and spent 3 years as a public-school teacher before coming to work at NCCA.
“High Fives!” is NCCA’s transitional kindergarten program for students who turn 5 years old by December 31. This allows some students to skip a 4 year-old preschool and still fully prepare for kindergarten!
Students attending the program go to kindergarten able to identify letter names and sounds, read simple words, identify numbers through 30 and perform basic addition. Each week “High Fives!” students participate in Gym, Spanish, Art, and Music classes!
My favorite part of “High Fives!” however, is its focus on the Bible. We learn about heroes of the Bible such as David, Joseph and Moses. The theme verse of my classroom is “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I make you fishers of men.” Mark 1:17
