My name is Robyn Goodlin and I am the reading specialist at New Castle Christian Academy. I’ve been teaching at NCCA since 2007 when my youngest child was ready to start kindergarten. I taught first grade for 7 years before becoming the Reading-Resource Room teacher in 2017. Before teaching at the academy, I stayed at home to raise my two daughters. Just after graduating from college, I taught seven years at the second grade level in Culpeper, Virginia. I hold certifications in Elementary Education, and I am a Reading Specialist certified as an Orton-Gillingham instructor. Orton-Gillingham is a multi-sensory learning program designed to help students with reading disabilities such as dyslexia.
I enjoy teaching at NCCA for many reasons. I love getting to know the students and the families year after year. We begin each day in prayer and lift up needs of others before our God and thank Him for all He’s given us. I enjoy being a part of this experience and observing how the students grow in their relationship with God Being able to incorporate Biblical values such as kindness, forgiveness and patience in the classroom throughout the day creates a unique environment where learning can take root and blossom.
