Nice to support our former students!

Pastor Greg Marshall from New Life Baptist Church and board member at NCCA was the master of ceremonies for the evening, as we welcomed many alumni, former board members, and current NCCA families.

Cami and Allison Schaubroeck led us in a wonderful medley of song to start the evening.

We were blessed to hear testimonies from former students Marissa Stoner, Elena Patton, and Seth Plyler and the keynote address was delivered by the Rev. Paul Votaw.

It was a warm and  blessed night as we looked back proudly on our history while keeping a focused eye on our future.

God's Girlz needs thousands of buttons for a mission project to Haiti.

If you’ve got loose buttons at the bottom of your junk drawer, you can help a mother in Haiti provide food for her family.

God’s Girlz – a group of 6^th grade students at NCCA – are collecting thousands of buttons for a ministry project in Haiti. Their motto is “Changing Ourselves to Change the World,” and they have partnered with Autumn Marshall, a former NCCA student who is now a missionary to Haiti.

Mothers in Haiti use the buttons to create bracelets, which they sell to earn a living and support their families. You can find out more about the project here, on Facebook, or by contacting the school office: (724) 658-5858.

The annual Christmas Musical, “The Great Christmas Giveaway” will be presented Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the NCCA Gymnasium.  Students are to be at the school by 6:30 p.m.  All students are required to participate in the program.  If your child cannot attend, please notify Mrs. Votaw prior to the program.

The High Fives! and Kindergarten classes will sing a medley of songs prior to the musical.  They will also join the rest of the students on stage for the closing song of the musical. Students in Grades 1, 2, and 3 will each be featured in one of the musical pieces.  Students in Grades 4 through 8 volunteer to either sing a solo, act, have a speaking part, play a chime, dance, etc.  We’ve already begun to work on this year’s musical and students have already volunteered for parts in the musical.  It is important that I know in advance if your child is unable to participate.

The story takes place in a mall – students are to dress as if they were going shopping at the mall.  Christmas colors would be nice.  Remember it gets very warm under the lights so refrain from sweaters, sweatshirts and heavy clothing.

The message of this year’s musical is the joy of giving.  If we’ve received the greatest gift of Christmas, God’s Son, it should change the way we give to others.  We should give out of love, give our best, and give what is needed and not what is deserved.  This is how God gave to us.  When we learn to give like God gave, we will find the true joy of Christmas.

Music Teacher

We ask that photos of NCCA family members who are currently serving, or have served, in the Military be submitted, to be on display.  Each photo must be labeled with the individual’s name, branch of the military, and dates/places where he or she served (as well as student’s name so the photo can be returned.) We really look forward to celebrating these heroes!

Middle School would like to say “Thank you!” to all of you for supporting the Face Painting and Photos at the Harvest Party. Middle School raised a total of $93.00!
