Library Wish List

Our tireless librarian, Miss Graham, has compiled the annual wish list of books for our school library. If you feel inclined to purchase one (or more!) of these titles, we would welcome your donation.

NCCA Most Wanted Books 2012

Box Tops, Labels, & Receipts

Just because school is almost over does not mean we are not still collecting:
  • Box Tops for Education
  • Campbell’s Labels
  • Shop ‘N Save Receipts
To get you started, here is a link to Summer Collection Sheets for Box Tops. Please print & send in at the start of school in August.
With your help, we can continue to earn money for our school!

Spring Musical

The Spring Musical, “Follow U” will be presented Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the NCCA Gymnasium. Students are to be at the school by 6:30p.m. All students are to participate in the Spring Program. If your child cannot attend, please notify Mrs. Votaw prior to the program.

The musical takes place at Follow U Academy, which makes costuming easy. Students are to wear their NCCA polo shirts and khaki shorts or capris. Remember it gets very warm on stage with the lights and this time of the year.. All students should wear tennis shoes. Students in Grades 6 and 7 are participating in a black light/white glove presentation and need to be dressed in black (a long sleeved black top, long black pants of any type, and black socks) for that scene.

The High Fives! and Kindergarten classes will sing a medley of songs prior to the musical.

The musical will include First Grade through the Eighth Grade with the High Fives! and Kindergarten classes joining in on the closing song. Grades 1, 2, and 3 will each be featured in one of the songs. Students in grades 4 through 8 volunteer to have speaking parts, solos, dances, instrumental parts, etc.

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Marti at (724) 946-2460.

NCCA: Going Green

NCCA has gone green!

We now have two recycling projects that will help God’s Earth and earn a little extra money for the school.

Project 1: Paper & Cardboard Recycling

There are now have two BIG recycling bins in the parking lot behind the school. The green & yellow bin is for paper and magazines ONLY. The other bin is for broken-down cardboard.

The Academy will put all of its used paper, magazines, and cardboard in the bins – and we hope that you will do the same! The bins will be “tipped” each month and whatever is collected will be charged against the monthly fee. (We could even make a bit of money!)

The bins are clearly marked as to which is for paper/magazines and which is for cardboard. Please do not deposit anything else into these bins.

Project 2: Ink & Cell Phone Recycling

We are also collecting used ink & toner cartridges and used cell phones. There is a box in the front hallway where these items can be placed. When we send them in, we will receive a small amount of money for each item.

Thanks for your support!

Volunteer Hours Available

Parents and students: get a head start on next year’s volunteer hours!

There are many summer projects with painting and various other jobs that can be started now. Most of them must be worked on after school hours and on weekends. The time you spend on these projects will count toward your volunteer hours for next year’s tuition assistance.

If you are available and interested, please contact Mrs. Votaw at (724) 658-5858 or nccaeducation@gmail.com

Puppets! Puppets! Puppets!

Mrs. Saad, one of our chapel speakers and a grandma to four of our students, has asked the Academy for help. She and her husband, Pastor Ted Saad, are committed to giving a Christian church in India puppets for their ministry.

Only 15% of the total Indian population is Christian and explaining the salvation message to children is facilitated with the use of puppets. The Saads have offered the Academy the opportunity to donate money so puppets can be purchased and shipped to the Indian church.

Each classroom has a jar that can be stuffed with money and each child, teacher, and staff member is encouraged to bring whatever God leads each to give.

This is a wonderful chance to make a difference in God’s kingdom!
