I’ve taught second grade at NCCA since October 2001. Before NCCA, I taught fourth grade and was a junior high math teacher, in addition to substitute teaching in public and private schools. I love second grade because the students generally are eager to learn, enjoy school, and they constantly amaze me with their words and actions.

Teaching in a Christian school permits me to keep Christ as the center of my instructions. In my class, we often stop and connect with Jesus through prayer and Bible verse. I stress godly characteristics in the actions of my students, whether they are in the classroom or elsewhere. Because Jesus is number one in my life, I encourage this in my students.

Teaching at NCCA is not just a job. It is a mission to help my students advance in all ways. I want them to live and do as Jesus would.
